10:01 pm - Invitation

xithicax
Hai there.

I am inviting all LJ members to come join my community. There are no need to stereotype invitations, everyone is welcome. It’s a place for you to discuss many topics with other people around the world. Some of the topics include make up, dieting, celebs , tv and film , debates, advice on sexual and psychical health and relationships. There is also a ‘general’ forum for you all to just talk about whatever interests you! You can also gain ‘gems’ from posting to buy stuff in the feature shop, use your own avatars and upload your own photography!

I really look forward to seeing you around there sometime

Ithica

Hi,
First let me introduce myself. My name is Emma and basically I’m here is for a little bit of inspiration. I’m 19 years old and going to Vancouver Film School in October. I went to an all girls private school for my high school, which was different.
Now the reason I’m here, I’m currently working on writing a script. It’s in its very beginning stages and just working with a general idea. My idea is a movie about being a teenager. So you’re probably thinking, wait wasn’t mean girls already done. This isn’t going to be that kind of movie, I want to take real life stories of teenagers dealing with school, friends, parents, relationships, drugs and alcohol typically in the older age group(juniors and seniors). I’m hoping my movie will be similar to something like Thirteen, or even Elephant (without the whole shooting). As I said before I went to a private all girls’ school, very different to any public school in North America so I’m here to ask for maybe stories, or ideas on things I should focus on.
I would love to base my script on real stories but obviously change the characters slightly to fit the story. So please, send me an email (stars_nmixtapes_x@yahoo.com), I will change names so there’s no issues with security etc. And I will credit your help.
Thanks.
Emma

5:06 pm - Sickened

canyontothesky
Has anyone read Sickened?

It's a bestseller by author Julie Gregory, who "was continually X-rayed, medicated and operated on in the vain pursuit of an illness that was created in her mother's mind: Munchausen by Proxy, the world's most hidden and dangerous form of child abuse".

The book I have also includes scans of medical notes, photographs etc. It's really an extraordinary story, and it's made me aware of that type of abuse now - before I hadn't heard of it.

Oh, and I'm new :).

1:36 pm - Teen Spirit - a forum completely by and for teens!
niko2004 I'm Niko, founder/host of Teen Spirit (both on delphi & speakez forums).. and I'm just trying to get the word out about our forums - the Delphi TS has had over 40,000 posts, but has died down recently, and I'm trying to revive them :)

Both forums (the one on speakez being the new sister forum) have been created and ran completely by teens, and are mainly for teens - topics ranging all over the board, including many many forum games, tons of polls and debates, and quite a few exclusive & original games. There's also a chat over at the Delphi Teen Spirit, which I open and host quite often .. just look at the board for when its open!

You just have to register at each of the forums - no personal information needed, and then you can post on the forums! Any questions, you can e-mail me at Niko2004@hotmail.com , and I'll get back to you ASAP :)

Links to the forums:

Teen Spirit (Delphi)
Teen Spirit (SpeakEZ)

You can also reply to this post if you have any questions .. hope to see some of you over at the forums :)

Drew is a good friend but since he started going out with his current girlfriend hes been idk extra rude and he says things like: yah your just a really kewl guy with long hair. your only 1/8 girl 1/8 gay since you like guys and 3/4 guy. If i were you i wouldnt feel loved.

but then at the same time he always brings up stuff like why were you so sad last night? and acts like hes all caring and crap.

so should i be totally pissed at him for been a dick or shold i not because hes also a sweetheart to me. i mean what he says hurts and all but when hes sweet his so so so something.... ARGGHHH drew what you do to me

geoff_lonnie do you have an important life experience that the world should hear about?!

we are lonnie and geoff,
we're really interested in how teens express the significant events in their lives through their weblogs. we're looking to put together a collection of these stories, poems, ramblings, etc!

if you have something that fits with this, we would love to include you in our anthology! so please post a reply or send us a link to your blog!

I love reading.
I especially love Sarah Dessen books and I hope to go to UNC:Chapel Hill where she teaches creative writing.
My favorite book is Keeping The Moon.

12:43 pm - "Empress of the World" by Sara Ryan

elohvee
Hallo, new here. Plugging a book I recently read and loved:

Empress of the World, by Sara Ryan. I'm pretty sure it was her first novel, but it was amazing. It told the story of a girl attending an archeology program away from home for eight weeks, and while there seemingly discovering the truth about herself, making good friends for what seemed like the first time in her life, falling in love for the first time, etc. All that cliched teen stuff, given a new twist and brought together in a wonderful novel.

There were belivable characters, and interesting plot line, and a great writing style to back it all up. I'm warning you, though, it did deal with the main character discovering her bisexuality/homosexuality (you never find out completely for sure which it is), and while there is nothing graphic, some individuals may find it objectional (homophobes in particular), or undesirable to read about.

Cheers,

~Candy McFierson
